As some of you know I spent the entire day yesterday on the couch when I got hit with a fever. Nothing bothers me more than not being able to do anything so I tried my hardest to work.

I did decide that any of the unsold key paintings (as seen on design*sponge), would be sold for $100 before I move into a new space. It will be a one-week only sale and we'd love to feature your styled painting on the blog (American Eagle Outfitters bought the majority, but there are a few left!)

wedding wednesday: claire la faye bridal

okay, major wedding wednesday epiphany - the accessory designer of garden of whimsy that i just posted about last week is the same lovely woman i posted about way back in september! i'm pretty embarrassed about this epiphany, i definitely should have put two and two together way sooner, but regardless, i am even the more impressed with this woman after learning more about her expansive talents! she is, of course, the uber talented claire la faye, and today i'd like to show a few pics showcasing her newest collection . . .

Ruffled Feathers

My job is so unique. I work in fashion but what I end up drawing for designers and companies changes every day. Today's project involves pretty parrots. Found some really adorable photo inspiration for this, just thought I'd share with you. You always ask me where my inspiration comes from, and this just proves it: everywhere.

Short Curly Hairstyle

Short curly hair styles can be a dangerous territory to tread. With one wrong cut, you can end up with hair that looks like a clown's wig. If the results are the wrong style, you can end up with hair that looks like a giant cotton ball. Either way, if you don't know what you want and what looks good, you can end up with a mess. Layering is usually the best way to help control a frizzy mane. Be reducing the amount of curls, you can tame their shape. You also tend to get a much better overall shape with a layered cut than a straight cut. Another helpful hint for dealing with wild locks is to use the right curly hair care products.
