colors!  draping!  layers!  ruffles!  texture!  bows!  volume!

if you can't tell already, i'm pretty excited about this collection.  vera is a true artist in that she never stops venturing out into new styles and is constantly reinventing herself in these innovative collections, while still staying true to her basic aesthetic.  as different as her spring/summer 2012 collection may be from the lovely, organza heavy, all-white fall 2010 collection i last posted about, it's still very vera.

*i hope you enjoyed these gorgeous dresses as much as i do!  on a completely unrelated note, i have much appreciated your input from the question i tagged onto a post a few days ago on whether i should make a second blog or incorporate more personal posts into this one.  it seems the general consensus is to incorporate, so incorporate i shall!  i especially loved megan's response that: "...your blog should be about what you enjoy and since I'm a big reader I think books are 'pretty things.' "  agreed.  thank you!  expect more personal, intellectual, and otherwise completely random posts in the near future.  if you read it, great!  if you skip over to the pretty pictures... well then that's great too!!

this just may be one of the best "recreate-an-overpriced-anthropologie-item" posts i've come across - for realzies.  inexpensive, seemingly easy, and a fantastic outcome.

as i've mentioned, i personally don't tweet, but the fine people at jezebel do.  and then they share the highlights with me.  it's totally awesome.

anyways, what jumped out at me today was a post by dita von teese, whom i, along with the majority of the human population, find perfectly and enviably sexy.

celeb style: blake lively & her [slightly] edgier side

my lovely blake took a fem & ruffly christian dior dress & toughed it up a bit by adding a cropped leather jacket.  my opinion?  LOVE. 

as a leg-conscious lady, i also love blake's addition of black tights -- it shows women everywhere that tights can be classy & fashionable.  [tights can also go incredibly, incredibly wrong, which is why i'm extra happy to see her show how they can look great!]

now, my fave blogger over at red carpet fashion awards [where i also obtained the pic] wasn't a fan of this look, so i understand it may be not be well-received by all.  either way, i'm on the "love it" side of the debate.
